Computers keep three types of caches: user cache, system cache, and browser cache. These caches can take up space on your hard drive – so let's clean them up!
Finding and Deleting Cache files
To delete the cache files, do the following:
Open Finder and from the “Go” menu on the top, click “Go to Folder”. Type in ~/Library/Caches and press enter. You’ll see a bunch of different folders – those are what we're looking for. Go into each of these folders and delete everything. (but don't delete the folders themselves!)
After you’re done clearing out those files, make sure to empty your Trash bin so you can free up some space in your HD!
To finish, restart your Mac so it'll begin to create new cache files.
