My dashboard disappeared – what happened?

Posted by Lou TarDisk on 2017-05-05

If you are one of those people that really liked to use the dashboard on your Mac and the new OS X El Capitan is driving you crazy without it – don't worry! You can still use it.

OS X El Captain brought a lot of changes – one of which may get pretty annoying to Mac users who used their dashboard quite a bit. Once you install the new OS X, it looks like your dashboard simply disappeared. But actually, it's still there, it's just deactivated. Here's how to reactivate your dashboard:

  1. Go to the Apple menu> System Preferences
  2. In Systems Preferences, select Mission Control
  3. In Mission Control the dashboard is set to inactive. Change the setting to active.
  4. If you want the dashboard to show up in Spaces, choose "Spaces".

Done! Your dashboard should be back now.
